CITY & Civilization
The Huts system is about domestication, which is different from civilization.
Civilization is based on exploitation of the Huts system to create an additional tier:
necessary when one or more Hut gets too big and creates an imbalance which affects the other Huts.
Domestication is about sustaining the natural balance of village life. It is about Harmonious Living.
Civilization has three main concerns:
Government (sustaining the flow of civic economy)
Culture / Religion (spirituality)
Trade (economy)
Civilization develops where a Trade Token is used in exchange for
and a judiciary system is necessary to oversee equilibrium in social flow.
As players explore Charley's Jungle they will encounter remnants of a once great civilization which has been overgrown by the Jungle.
Ancient Ruins are a feature to be explored.
All three of these concerns are controlled by Ritual
Ceremonies involve Rituals which cross the three area's.
Guilds, Societies, different Schools, Bureaucracy, are forms of Ritualistic social activities.
Comparing these area's with the Village Map of the Huts System we can identify which Huts are involved with this structure of Civilization.
One goal of the game is to develop the Villages so that a Civilization can be formed.
Maintaining it is a long-term possibility of the game.
At City level, the trinity of Commerce, Governance and Religion assert domination over many aspects of life.
The development of new types of Huts occurs.
eg; Offices of Guilds / Corporations,
which function in purpose between Trade Hut and Village Hall
although their reach asserts control over and replaces what was previously the domain of other Huts.
How best to achieve sustainability -
what form of social structure will best achieve equilibrium throughout all factors of Life,
based upon the Culture which has developed along those lines to get us into this situation
of requiring Responsibility of enforced maintaining of social continuity.
